Day 22 – Something you wish you hadn’t done in your life.

I wish I didn’t allow my Dad to bully me into a field of studying that so isn’t me and wasted YEARS in the wrong career. But if I had gone the way I wanted to/should have . . . would I have had my boys in my life?

Day 21 – (scenario) Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?

Drop everything and rush to be by her side. We can sort the crap out later when she’s better.

Day 20 – Your views on drugs and alcohol.

Drugs – Unlike Bill Clinton, I am not going to say that I smoked but did not inhale. I was a student, I was in Res. Life was good.

BUT then I grew up.

My younger brother is in Pollsmoor prison because of his dependency on drugs. So I know first-hand what drugs can do to a person. I think the drugs killed him years ago. His body is somehow holding on and I don’t know the person who is inhabiting his body at the moment but it is definitely not my brother.

Alcohol – I was a student. I was in Res. Life was good. BUT I grew up and had a child . . . Therefore I still drink – for my nerve.

I have several alcoholics in my extended family. Some of them are recovering while others refuse to admit they have a problem.

So I guess what I am trying to say is, I stay away from drugs . . . it’s just not worth it. And when it comes to alcohol, I try to remember the “in moderation” bit.

Day 19 – What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?

Yikes -I received a few “private messages” about my views on gay marriage. Apparently I’m “going to hell with them gays”.
Gmf – I can’t think of a better place to be, actually.

Which brings me to good ole religion. What do I think of it? Well I really hope that the God I was told about in my childhood is not the same God the people who sent me messages profess to believe in.

What I do know is that the God I was told about in my childhood is the God who said: Love thy neighbour as thy self. And from what I can see happening around me . . . this neighbourhood of ours has gone to pot because there’s not a lot of love happening. Maybe Earth is hell and the afterlife is heaven . . . who knows.

I wish I was around in the time of the Roman Senate and the early British Parly. When politics was exciting and happening and kept you spellbound.

Day 18 – Your views on gay marriage

I’m going to quote someone I read a while ago. Not sure who though.

He said: I’m all for gay marriage. Why should us hetero’s suffer alone?

But on a serious note, as long as you don’t hurt kids, the elderly or animals, I don’t care what the sex of the person is you cuddle up next to at night. If they make you happy and if you are a better person for having them in your life, go forth and enjoy!

Day 15 – Something or someone you couldn’t live without, because you’ve tried living without it.

I’ve tried living without many things and many people. Some with success, some not.

I couldn’t live without newspapers, mags and books. Tried to block off the horrid things I read in newspapers, but I get seriyaaas withdrawal symptoms.
