Tracy’s post (sorry I just don’t know how to do the clever link thing) about being a bad Mom re tooth fairy brought back special memories for me.
My mom went all out when it came to Father Christmas, tooth fairy, Easter bunny, et al. I remember waking up one Easter Monday and there was no sign that the bunny had been, no Easter eggs. Nada. I ran to their room and woke her up and wailed that the bunny had not been. I had so been looking forward to my chocs. Mom almost fell out of bed in her haste to fix her stuff-up.
I was 7 at the time and my little sis was 2. Mom then let me in on the secret and thus ended my innocence in this regard. I had to help her make flour bunny paw prints all over the house and hide chocs. She hid mine and I had to hide my sister’s.
We had gone to a big Easter lunch the day before and Mom was forced to have a glass of wine near the end of the day. Mom was not a drinker and that one glass of wine klapped her so bad that she overslept! hahahaha. She kept apologising to me for ruining the fairytale.
My disappointment soon gave way to glee. I had the biggest ever upperhand over my sister!
PS: I’ve told this story so many times and am now wondering if I had told you guys about this yet. Apologies if I had.
On another note:
My cardio and heart are very happy with each other so far. He’s happy with the progress my heart is making and has picked up something else but I won’t bore you with the details. I see him again in Feb and remain on meds.
I have been married to my Prince Charming for 4 glorious years! Elton, thanks for being the amazing husband, father, provider and protector you are. Thanks for our beautiful child or to quote Sam Wilson – thanks for the Supersperm that made our gorgeous child!
