Blogging about work and colleagues.

“Ooh, I haven’t checked your blog for ages!” One of my colleagues chirped today during lunchtime.

I then said NOOOOOOOOOOOOO please don’t do that. I’ve been bitching about you on my blog lately.

Haha, not sure if she knew I was joking.

But it got me thinking about those moments when something happens at work or work-related and you so want to vent.
FB? No because every colleague has friended you

Twitter? Maybe, because not many of them are there but then my tweets aren’t protected so…

Blog? Until I told this colleague that I had one… maybe

Personally, I find the best way to deal with that is to tell the colleague in a firm but nice way that enough is enough already. I definitely won’t take to cyberspace… unless I create a fake ID.

And once I get home, I inhale a glass of wine and I usually feel better after chatting to DH about it.

I love venting here coz most times everyone is on your side, hehe. None of my colleagues know I blog here, I don’t think they know what blogging is, they’re mostly on facebook. My name & pic pretty much gives me away, if they were to come here, but you know what, tough! Hehe

I know some people who have anonymous accounts where they can vent, and others who use different names, but have a community of support around them. There are the obvious professional risks involved in talking about your work/employer/colleagues online, but it’s also important to express yourself. Glad your husband is a chatter/listener.
