I think I’ve figured men out…

and as much as we like to tell ourselves and each other that we are the cleverer sex… Sisters, I’m sad to break the news to you… they are way more clever than we give them credit for.

They have SO figured us out. They know exactly which buttons to press and how to get us to do things.

The most simplest and unsophisticated man knows that us woman like things done a certain way and once we’ve shown them how to do it a few times and they still don’t get it, we become exasperated and say “Oh sod it, I’ll do it myself!” Mistake No 1 on our part and The Secret all men are born with. If you don’t want to do something a woman asks you to do, just do a really sucky job and hey, presto! She shoves you out of the way and DOES IT HERSELF!

I’ve been watching a few men around me and boy — some of them have perfected the art of The Secret. They don’t even try anymore. Just limply gaze in the direction of what they’re supposed to be doing and the women in their lives go a shoving and scolding and just do it themselves. The scallywags have been playing us… BIG TIME.

I have decided to sit my big fat bum on the couch and even if it takes him three days to load the washing machine and get it on the right cycle, I will NOT do it myself.

We have been had.

Absolutely agree with you. I left our bed yesterday after making it for four days running. Guess what, when we went to bed last night it was still unmade. So all I did was frustrate myself dammit!

hehehe, that is so true. Fortunately for me I’ve figured this out about hubby, especially with the tea making – you know- “I am really bad at tea making and will I please go make it as no one makes a cup of tea like his sexy wife”!But unfortanetly for me I will still go and make the tea cos I want a good cup and I know that he will deliberately make the worse tea ever!

Oh yes… it is. It’s a case of how many times will she tell me to pick things up before she just does it herself?

Excellent! One of the rules I live by is: You can ask a man to do something OR you can show him how you want it done, BUT you can’t do both 🙂

Suki – that is a very clever rule and I think I shall adopt it from this day forward. And if it means my house looks like a dump, so be it. Will tell the girlfriends who needs to know why things aren’t looking too great at home and hope they understand.

Can’t remember where it started, but it is something Gavin and I can live with. It doesn’t mean that I don’t get annoyed when things aren’t done MY WAY, I just stay (mostly) quiet about it. But then again, would I like it if I’m told that I must do things HIS WAY all the time? Hell no.

HA. It has taken me ages to learn this. My MIL also did me in and did everything for her son until the wedding. Fortunately he has made a lot of progress. But it is still a work in progress.x

Our MILs owe us big time and our D/SILs will owe US big time for not perpetuating this vicious circle!

I am only now catching up on the posts:Whahaha! Ja, men are conning us into doing stuff. I just do things myself and spare myself the frustration and stress. But Husband is good in making kids bottles, bath them and get Shaun to pick up toys and making breakfast on weekend mornings for him and the kids (I only eat yogurt for breakfast). So, the rest I just do the rest and get it over and done with!
